2011 Beneficiaries


  
 
 Al-Farouq Agboola
Al- Farouq Agboola;  An 8 month old boy with congenital heart  disease (Fallot’s Trilogy) referred to MIOT Hospital Chenai India for heart operation to correct the defect.  Estimated cost of medical care in India inclusive of travel expenses is 2.1 million Naira only. Parents  are able to afford 500,000 Naira of the total cost, MPAC provided the remaining part of the cost of treatment and the boy was sent abroad where got the help he urgently needed.
  
  

Aliu Medinat Ometere

     Aliu Medinat Ometere 25 year old medical doctor suffered from recurrent eye problems (optic neuritis) for one year with deterioration of vision in one eye. She was referred abroad for further evaluation and treatment. Cost of medical care was 1.2 million Naira (not inclusive of travel expenses). Patient was able to afford 400,000 Naira. MPAC sponsored her treatment and alhamdulilahi she had a successful treatment.

  
 
 Suliat Agboola
A 30 year old woman with CPA tumor, she was presented with hearing impairment and headaches. Patient was referred abroad for further treatment. Estimated cost of procedure: $8997.00. In addition to bearing the full cost of treatment, based on professional advice, MPAC has been funding the post-surgery radiotherapy for the patient for the last 2 months in the hospital abroad.
  
 
 Muslimat Abdulazeez
She needed replacement of her hip joints at Unilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State. She has had her two hips replaced at the cost of N1,000,000.00 (N1 Million Naira), fully funded by the MPAC Sekhina Fund.
  
 

Umar Abdulmalik

Urethral Stricture. The treatment cost 350,000 naira.

  
 Daniel Martins

Martins is a 3-year old boy born into a Christian family. Since birth he developed episodes of breathlessness on exertion, squatting, bluish discoloration of the mouth, tongue and hand (cyanosis). The child has also not been growing well (failure to thrive) as a result of frequent sickness. He was evaluated at Federal Medical Center Abeokuta in Ogun State and found to have multiple defects in the heart resulting in cyanotic heart disease.

At present there is no facility in Nigeria to treat this condition and the parents cannot afford the cost of treatment in a facility outside Nigeria. With an estimated treatment cost of $8000.00 (Eight thousand US Dollar) MPAC SEKHINA project supported the family to give the child a chance of productive survival.

  
 

Adepoju Yusuf Olatunde

A 36-year old Islamic cleric from Osun State. The brother has a growth (tumor) in his chest causing chest pain and bleeding. The case has been independently verified by the Sekhina team. the brother is billed to have surgical removal of the chest tumor at OAUTH Ife. The treatment cost 300,000 naira.

  
 

Yusuf Ahmed

Amputee. The treatment cost 320,000 naira.

  
 

Ganiyat Saliu

Brain Tumour. The treatment (ongoing) cost 40,000 naira.
