Sister Rahma Sani

Sister Rahma Sani, a Medical Social Worker with a Teaching Hospital in the country. In 2005, sister Rahma was diagnosed with cancer of the breast for which she had Surgery same year and subsequently chemotherapy and radiotherapy at ABU Teaching Hospital Zaria. About May this year following complaints of difficulty and pains on walking she was discovered to have a growth of the cancer cells in her spine. She is presently receiving radiotherapy which can sometimes be agonizing. For now she is off work and trying to cope with her pains with the support of analgesics and ultimately reliance on Allah.

  

Nasiru Hammodu

22year-old/male. Diagnosis- Spinal Deformity with lower limbs paralysis. Needs complex spinal surgery. Considering the long standing nature of the condition, the patient will need to be reviewed by a spine surgeon. The Sekhina team has referred client to a specialist.

Mayegun Fatimoh

50yr/ female. Diagnosis:  Bilateral Avascular necrosis of Head of femur (Hip disease). Treatment; -bilateral total hip replacement in India. Treatment estimate from Amrita institute of Medical sciences was Rs. 335500 (app. 1.17 million naira) not inclusive of visa and flight fares.

  
 

Maryam Wavi-Ngulde

39yr-old/female. Diagnosis is not yet confirmed. Has been on treatment in National Hospital Abuja.
